Michael Murphy (born March 22, 1975) is an American artist, sculptor and pioneer of the Perceptual Art movement. His approach is to challenge the viewer’s boundaries using multidimensional techniques in order to create three-dimensional renderings of flat images. Fascinated with light, color, tone and shape, Michael Murphy strives to challenge the boundaries between the second and third dimensions, with optical illusions often employed to this end.
