Event viewing instructions:

1.  You will see the events of the whole month, in small segments, in the colour of the organization, with the title of the event and the time,
2.  Put your cursor on the event and you will see a small pop-up box with the name of the event, the time and price,
3.  Now left double-click on the event itself: a full -page window will open, with all the information about the event. This window has a white background and black distinctive easy- to- see writing.

Join one of our expert guides for a tour of the Jewish section of Mountain View Cemetery. The recently restored Jewish section of Mountain View Cemetery is the final resting place of over 450 members of our community, including many early pioneers.  Sunday March 31, Sunday, June 16. Meet at 11 am at Jewish cemetery Gates, 37th & Fraser Street. $15 per person. Advanced registration required. 

Join  us for an informative and highly entertaining walk through the early history of our  community.

Jewish Museum: BRAAI ON THE BEACH-Chosen Food Returns

Braai on the Beach: Celebrating traditional South African Cuisine. 

The Jewish Museum and Archives of BC invites you to a very special dining event  Join us on the shores of Locarno Beach for a sunset braai (traditional South African Barbecue) to wrap up the summer.  We will be indulging in specialties of the Cape including Boerewors, Miele Pap, and Melktert.

Elana Wenner, JMABC Director of Programming and Development

Elana is the Director of Programming and Development at the Jewish Museum and Archives of BC. She was born and raised in Vancouver, to a family with deep Canadian Jewish roots that date back to the 1930s in Vancouver and the1880s in Canada. She holds a BA in Jewish Studies from McGill University and an MA in Jewish Studies from Concordia University, with an MA thesis on the history and development of Jewish life and culture in Western Canada. Elana lives in Vancouver near Pacific Spirit Park, with her two young children and one aging cat. She enjoys outdoor activities, reading historical fiction, and engaging those around her in Jewish communal life through innovative and experiential modes of education.
