Register here.
The link to the event will be sent closer to the date.

Guest Speaker
While she may be best-known for her role on The Real Housewives of New York City, Jill Zarin is a successful entrepreneur, has a passion for philanthropy, and is the bestselling co-author of Secrets of a Jewish Mother. Through her wit and positivity, she will share how her desire to give back to her community raised thousands of dollars for PPE for frontline workers, all while inspiring a new business venture with her daughter.

This is an evening you won’t want to miss.

We look forward to “seeing” you at Choices!

Jan 26 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

MEL BROOKS – BEHIND THE SCENES

The Producers Problem: Propaganda, Provocation, Promotion?

Thursday/Friday January 26 / 27 1:00pm – 2:30pm | on Zoom
Free. To receive the link: contact Lisa Quay lisa@jccgv.bc.ca

Mel Brooks’ films are known for walking the tightrope between comedy and real-world commentary. We will explore how Brooks achieved this balance in his seismic hit The Producers, and controversies around his brazen Hitler-meets-hilarity approach.
Adam Roberts will analyze the original 1967 film and the 2001 Broadway stage adaptation, considering the critical reception of each work, as he peeks behind the zeitgeist of this unlikely fable.

Special Programs at the JCC With Guest Artist-in-Residence Adam Roberts

Guest Artist-in-Residence Adam Roberts is an award-winning musical director and teacher. He was the founding Artistic Director of the Austin (TX) Jewish Repertory Theatre and co-founding Artistic Director of TILT Performance Group. Roberts was Director of Musical Theatre with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and is a contributing writer for Backstage magazine.

Sponsored in part by the JSA – Phyliss and Irving Snider Foundation Empowerment Series.
