She holds a BA in Jewish Studies from McGill University and an MA in Jewish Studies from Concordia University\, with an MA thesis on the histor y and development of Jewish life and culture in Western Canada. Elana live s in Vancouver near Pacific Spirit Park\, with her two young children and one aging cat.
